On October 13, 2016, the CFPB announced the names of three new individuals who will be filling senior leadership positions at the CFPB. As with the CFPB’s announcement of leadership positions in July, all three individuals currently serve in the CFPB.
- Stacy Canan will take over as the CFPB’s Assistant Director for the Office of Older Americans, where she has served as the Deputy Assistant Director since November 2012.
- John Coleman will take over as Deputy General Counsel for Litigation and Oversight. He has previously served as Assistant General Counsel for Litigation and Senior Litigation Counsel, since 2010.
- Sonya White will take over as the CFPB’s Deputy General Counsel for General Law and Ethics in the Legal Division. She served as the CFPB’s General Counsel for General Law and Ethics since 2013.
This announcement comes just three months after the CFPB announced other changes to its leadership team in July. Then, the CFPB named Chris D’Angelo—the former Chief of Staff—as Associate Director for Supervision, Enforcement, and Fair Lending, Richard Lepley—the former Deputy General Counsel for General Law, Ethics, and Oversight—as Principal Deputy General Counsel, and Nellisha Ramdass—formerly the Acting Deputy Chief Information Officer—as Deputy Chief Operating Officer.
